Payne wrecks the Batmobile, has a fever crash, kills a motorist and takes the car. Gordon blocks the Narrows Bridge. Payne dives off with the S.T.A.R. device. Batman finds him at the Father Knickerbocker Wax Museum, kills the power pack, and the place catches fire. Payne breaks free and runs back in for his mannequin, Helena. Silver St. Cloud appears as a hallucination.
• 8-page Hawkman backup “True Heroes Never Die...!” by Wein, Rich Buckler and John Celardo. Continues from Showcase #103. Anton Lamont, interim curator at Midway City Museum, has Cagliostro’s cloak. First appearance of Fadeaway Man. He looks destroyed when Hawkman’s mace hits Da Vinci’s Pistol of Power. He is not.
