Key Facts: This is an Australian original comic adaptation of the famous Biggles aviation adventure stories by Captain W.E. Johns. Published by Action Comics Pty. Ltd. in July 1954 as part of their early 1950s line of locally produced adventure comics. Black and white interiors with a glossy colour cover. Standard size, saddle-stitched binding, newsprint paper. The issue features the two-part story “The Desert Thefts” drawn by Albert de Vine, along with non-fiction aviation illustrations and a Stamina Ranger Knickers advertisement. The series ran for many issues and was one of Australia’s popular adventure titles of the 1950s.
