The Avengers arrive at the Black Knight's castle in England, where they are attacked by Troglodytes. In a separate 3-page prologue story, Dormammu recruits the blinded Loki in a scheme to conquer Earth's dimension using the Evil Eye artifact. The issue sets up the larger conflict by manipulating the Avengers and Defenders into clashing over the Eye's fragments.
